이제 이 주제 구분의 마지막이자 실천적인 부분, 곧 타로 카드로 신탁을 묻고 얻는 방법에 이르렀다. 운용 방법은 상당히 많고, 그중에는 매우 복잡한 것도 있다.
나는 방금 언급한 방법들은 제쳐 둔다. 이런 문제에 정통한 사람들이 단순한 길이 진리의 길이라고 믿기 때문이다. 《보헤미안의 타로》에서 최근 다시 출판된 운용법도 제쳐 둔다. 그 책의 ‘점술 타로’라는 절은 이 안내서의 범위를 넘어 더 나아가려는 독자라면 그 가치에 맞게 참고할 수 있다.
우선 영국·스코틀랜드·아일랜드에서 지난 여러 해 동안 사적으로 사용되어 온 짧은 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법이 출판된 적은 없다고 생각한다. 적어도 타로 카드와 관련해서는 확실히 그렇다.
이 방법이면 모든 목적에 충분하리라고 믿는다. 다만 변형으로서 두 번째 방법도 덧붙이겠다. 프랑스에서 한때 줄리아 오르시니(Julia Orsini)의 신탁이라고 알려졌던 방법이다.

§ 6 THE ART OF TAROT DIVINATION We come now to the final and practical part of this division of our subject, being the way to consult and obtain oracles by means of Tarot cards. The modes of operation are rather numerous, and some of them are exceedingly involved. I set aside those last mentioned, because persons who are versed in such questions believe that the way of simplicity is the way of truth. I set aside also the operations which have been republished recently in that section of The Tarot of the Bohemians which is entitled "The Divining Tarot"; it may be recommended at its proper value to readers who wish to go further than the limits of this handbook. I offer in the first place a short process which has been used privately for many years past in England, Scotland and Ireland. I do not think that it has been published-certainly not in connexion with Tarot cards; I believe that it will serve all purposes, but I will add by way of variation-in the second place what used to be known in France as the Oracles of Julia Orsini.
